Busan Port AI Smart Port Competitiveness Enhancement Agreement
On the 16th, the Busan Port Authority (BPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA) to secure Busan Port's competitiveness as an AI smart port. Through this agreement, both organizations will share their expertise and research support systems, cooperating to develop Busan Port into a hub port with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The focus will be on joint planning, demonstration, and expansion of AI-based smart and digital port initiatives.
Collaboration Details and Future Plans
The key aspects of this agreement include ▲joint planning, demonstration, and expansion of AI-based smart and digital ports ▲cooperation in AI and data-driven technologies and services for the port and logistics sector ▲support for fostering digital and AI companies and commercializing their technologies ▲joint operation of professional training and education programs ▲joint planning and participation in national and public projects. The Busan Port Authority had previously announced 12 key tasks and 38 detailed implementation tasks on February 12th, aiming to realize physical AI in Busan Port by 2030 with an investment of 892.1 billion KRW. President Song Sang-geun stated that this agreement will actively contribute to Busan's leap forward as a global premium marine AI hub city.
